The pristine white sandy beach leads up past the surf lifesaving club up to the famous Fingal Spit. The spit can be crossed at low tide (with caution, check times with surf club) to view the ruins of the outer lighthouse residence. At the southern end of the beach you will find Barry Park lookout where you can watch Humpback Whales migrate north from Mid May to August and south from August to mid November with their newborn calves. Restaurants, the Surf Club cafe, take away shops, a garage service station and great pathways for walking and bike riding are all at your fingertips. Shoal Bay is just 3.5km away and Nelson Bay is a short 6.5km drive.
