The Location - Although this property is privately positioned it is still only 1km to village shops, newsagent, bottle shop, butcher, bakery, restaurants and cafe. There are two public parks located at opposite ends of the beach which offer picnic tables and BBQ facilities. When launching your boat there is a two lane all tide boat ramp at the rear of Salamander Shores Hotel or a four lane all tide boat ramp at Soldiers Point (approx 4km away).Whilst on holidays there is so much to do including: parasailing, kayaking, fishing, quad bike riding, camel rides, horse trail rides, scenic helicopter rides, scuba diving and of course whale and dolphin watching which has made Port Stephens a well-known destination for tourists. Try the fresh local produce or dine in one on the many award winning restaurants. Nelson bay is approx 6km away and the Salamander Shopping Centre is approx 3km away.

The House - Ideally designed to accommodate two families comfortably, this modern three bedroom absolute beachfront home has everything you will need for an enjoyable Port Stephens getaway. Entering on the ground level there are two living areas providing comfortable lounges, including a double sofa bed, flat screen TV with surround sound, VCR, DVD, Foxtel, a fireplace for the cooler months, air conditioning and WiFi. This area flows out to a beach front paved entertaining area with outdoor setting and a grassed area for the kids to play with direct access to the beach which offers calm waters for safe swimming. There is also a second grassed fully fenced area for your pet. The guests also have access to a fully equipped laundry with top loading washing machine and dryer plus a bathroom and internal access to the single lock-up garage. There is also a carport and off street parking with plenty of room for a boat (however there is a narrow road leading into the property, so please be careful when parking).

Continuing upstairs is a combined air conditioned lounge and dining room, with two x 2 seater red leather lounges, flat screen TV, DVD, CD player and a large timber dining suite. The modern kitchen comes fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, stove, oven and microwave. All three bedrooms are located on the upstairs level and offer a king sized bed, a queen sized bed and a tri-bunk bed. There is a large bath and shower plus vanity in the bathroom and a separate toilet. There is a fabulous covered full length deck which offers amazing water views, an outdoor setting, sun chairs and an electric BBQ. There are definitely smoke detectors at this property.

With your own private oasis by the water you could simply kick back and relax with a nice glass of wine, a good book or enjoy a BBQ on the deck with friends. Please note that pets are only permitted outside.

All pets must be on a lead at all times, as there are koala's in the area.

    Lovely spacious home, with a great yard (for the dog to run around), ample comfortable furniture and right on the waters edge - couldn't be any closer.

    It was a rainy weekend, but it was still a perfect weekend. We made great use of the fireplace and loved the sound of the water crashing.

    We couldn't get the TV to work. The owner called (lovely man) and arranged a technician to come out.

    I highly recommend the property and already have another booking for later this year.

    My rating for the property management company is because the level of service was mixed. I spoke to a wonderful representative on the telephone prior to checking in on the Saturday! She represents the company well and deserves a "5".

    We really enjoyed out stay at this property. We chose this rental because it was located on the water with water views, was pet friendly and had plenty of room for a boat. We discovered when we arrived, the yard may have room to park a boat but it’s extremely difficult to drive or reverse a boat into the yard. The narrow gate/driveway entry and the very narrow road in front of the property aren’t feasible for anything other than a very small boat, jet sky or similar to be navigated into the yard. We had to park our boat at the nearby reserve as it wasn’t possible to get it into or out of the yard.
    The house is in a great location right on the water. The view and outlook are very relaxing and it’s a very quiet area. The deck has an outdoor setting with a large number of chairs to cater for a group or a big family. The location is great for kayaking and a swim at high tide though the water is very shallow and recedes quite a way at low tide which makes it great for little kids. The house has lots of room to spread out upstairs and downstairs. The lounges and sofas downstairs are much more comfortable than those upstairs which are a little older and quite hard to sit on. The house was well equipped with china and glassware, a range of dvds and board games. There were also a number of kayaks and floating tubes available for use which was great. A second fridge in the garage made for a great drinks fridge and was needed as the fridge in the kitchen is not very big which over the Christmas Day period was a little bit of a challenge. The yard is pet friendly and has parking for three cars. Parking on the road outside the property is not possible as the road is too narrow to allow it. Overall we had a great stay and the only problem we encountered was the outdoor tap located at the back/water side of the house. Turning it on, you sometimes got tingles from the tap with what appeared to be voltage flowing through it. We reported th

    The access to the water craft in the garage was an advantage. We all enjoyed canoeing, floating or kayaking in the bay. Unfortunately inside the house felt like it needed a good clean. The front gate and driveway need attention, Not a good yard for dogs but an amazing location.

    We loved the location of this property but the property had a very strong dog smell in the downstairs room and main bedroom, the shower screens were not fitted correctly and water flooded onto the floors which was a slip hazard. The property needs a good clean if these things were fixed we would definitely go back
